Due to the nature of rapid ConTeXt development and its dependencies on latest (LuaTeX) binaries, standard TeX distributions with slow release cycles and no intermediate updates do not best suit the needs of adventurous ConTeXt users. Moreover, TeX distributions take a considerable amount of space, a great deal of which is not of interest to the users who never use LaTeX.

We will show how rsync has been used to cook up our own TeX Live–based distribution that can be constantly kept up–to–date with minimal effort, minimal web traffic and minimal space used.
