David Robinson is a film critic and historian, and a collector and student of the archaeology of cinema. Formerly film critic of The Times (London) his many publications include CHAPLIN HIS LIFE AND ART (1985, 2001) and, as co-author, LIGHT AND MOVEMENT (1995), with chapters on panorama and diorama. He is currently director of Le Giornate del Cinema Muto (Pordenone Silent Film Festival).
