Since the launch of Springer’s groundbreaking eBook program in 2006, the company has embarked on an aggressive product development schedule, launching SpringerMaterials, SpringerImages, SpringerProtocols, and SpringerReference in the span of four years. Each of these product development efforts utilized different means of including the librarian and researcher communities in their design. This talk will review some of these methods, including: customer focus groups, advisory boards, usability testing, co-creation, and complete outsourcing via API.
