Tim started his research career in Earth and Planetary science during the Apollo era when yellow legal pads, typewriters and Hollerith cards were the tools of science research and publishing. He has served for 22 years as chief editor of a major geoscience journal and experienced multiple transitions from the paper to the electronic world in his research, writing and publishing. He will share his perspectives of the most recent trends in research and publishing in the context his working and mentoring relationship with his most recent doctoral student and fellow panelist, Christy Till.
